Couched between two major intersections of South Mumbai, the Bombay Gymkhana, with its fascinating and chequered history, dating back to June 19, 1875, very much like the city of its birth, stands as a daily sporting inspiration to passers-by and motorists alike.

The Bombay Gymkhana is a microcosm of this wonderful cosmopolitan city. Sports is what binds members together: athletics, badminton, billiards, bridge, chess, cricket, football, rugby, squash, swimming, table tennis, tennis… And to enable members concentrate on sports, the Gymkhana has a series of add on facilities like a gymnasium, yoga, a library, a Shoppe, a hair cutting salon and even a manicurist/pedicurist to boot! As a result, this Gymkhana, and its members, have won several Indian and International Tournaments for different sports at different age groups. This is why the who’s who of India’s sporting firmament and the who’s who of Mumbai are members of this very special Club.
